Protecting our Homes and
Neighborhood from Wildfire Risk
Kingswood West is a Firewise Community and is recognized by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). We are taking proactive steps to reduce wildfire risk by hardening homes, managing vegetation, and creating a safer, more resilient environment.
Kingswood West is a small community in the north Lake Tahoe area bounded by Highway 267 on the north and the North Tahoe Regional Park to the southeast. The community is surrounded by forests and trails that are ready for outdoor adventures.
We Need Your Help
To maintain our Firewise certification and remain eligible for homeowners insurance discounts, our community must annually report the time and financial resources invested in defensible space and home hardening efforts.
All residents are asked to report:
Hours spent on defensible space activities (e.g., raking pine needles, clearing vegetation, trimming trees, bagging or hauling combustible green waste)
Money spent on improvements that increase your home’s fire safety
Many residents are already performing this important work. Reporting your efforts ensures they are counted toward our community’s annual submission.
Please complete the Firewise Form to record your time and/or expenses. You may submit the form multiple times throughout the year as you complete additional work.
Community participation is essential. Please encourage your neighbors to contribute and help strengthen our collective wildfire preparedness.
